Title: Peking Cotoneaster Date: 2021-10-05 Category: Plant Of The Week Tags: Drought, Shrub, Erosion, Foliage, Birds, Berries Summaryimage: peking-cotoneaster1.jpg
We love Peking Cotoneaster for its stunning fall color, berries for the songbirds in winter, and attractive white flowers with glossy leaves in spring. This large shrub, 6-10’ tall and wide, is often used as a wind block and to provide a thicket to shelter small birds in winter from predators. Peking Cotoneaster is also used to stabilize banks and prevent soil erosion, and is very drought tolerant once established.
